What is done during a Baltimore County Rental Inspection?
Compliance with the Balimore County Rental Registration program requires inspection of the following:
Carbon Monoxide Detectors FAQ
Proper Ventilation of Combustion Appliances
Secondary Means of Escape from Sleeping Areas
No Exterior Safety Hazards
Upon completion of the inspection the owner is to be provided with Baltimore County Rental License Inspection Sheet, along with time and date stamped photos of the front and back of the property including yard areas taken by the Licensed Home Inspector.
As part of the Rental Registration process, a Lead Inspection must also be obtained if applicable to the subject property. If the property was built before January 1, 1950, a Lead Inspection is required. If the propery was built after this date, but before January 1, 1978, it is suggested that the property be inspected for lead also. We are licensed by the Maryland Departement of the Environment to conduct the Lead Inspection. This is a separate inspection and not included as part of the Rental Inspection. Please note that if the property is subject to Lead Inspections, this inspection must be performed at each rental turnover.
